"It Feels Like I Failed" ~Kate Gosselin

Jon and Kate are once again on another magazine cover. They are both on the cover of the July 6th edition of People Magazine. The magazine is on newsstands starting tomorrow (Friday). I think I'm going to get a copy. It looks very interesting. Here is a short clip from the article:

There's a lot of shouting happening in Kate Gosselin's house. The mother of eight children – twins Mady and Cara, 8, and sextuplets Alexis, Collin, Leah, Hannah, Aaden and Joel, 5 – has barely had time to change out of her morning workout clothes before her brood descends upon her, clinging to her legs and loudly wondering what to do given the rainy weather. "Let's do a project," yells Kate, 34, above the clamor. The eight children race to the kitchen table and promptly pull out their construction paper and crayons to make Father’s Day cards for their conspicuously absent dad, who'll receive them two days later. "Will you help me draw a heart?" asks a giggling Collin. "I want lots of hearts." Lately, the family has seen lots of heartbreak, culminating with the news that Kate and Jon, 32, stars of the reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8, have decided to end their marrige. "On a good day, I feel relief," Kate says, curled up in a chair in her living room. "On a bad day, I feel failure."

Another Month Without Jon&Kate+8

Hello Fans! Unfortunately I have nothing but sad new to tell you tonight. I hope you all watched the new episode last night or are watching tonight. The news was honestly heartbreaking. I can't believe that their marrige is over. It seemed to happen so fast. It feels for so many like this separation is coming from a member of their own family. As you can see, a lot has been happening in the last 24 hours, and I for one can say it's devastating. I continue to be a fan of the show and hope to keep a place here for fans to talk & discuss what is going on. Here is an article from people.com regarding the seperation:

The wait is over – and so is the marriage. With an hour-long special broadcast Monday night, Jon and Kate Gosselin, parents of eight young children and stars of the TLC reality show Jon & Kate Plus Eight, publicly announced that they will separate on the same day they filed for divorce in a Pennsylvania court. "Over the course of this weekend, Jon's activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children," Kate said in a statement Monday night. "While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children." Jon released a statement of his own, claiming his wife was the first to make a legal move. "This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn’t change that."
"This will be a difficult transition for all of us," Jon's statement continued, "but Kate and I will work out a schedule that enables our kids to have plenty of quality time with both of us at home in Pennsylvania. In terms of my marriage, it’s no secret that the past six months or so have been very difficult for Kate and me. We are no different than other couples and parents who are facing a crossroads in their marriage. I am of course deeply saddened that we are divorcing." And, this may finally be one part of their life that remains private: The divorce papers – filed individually in Montgomery County, Pa., Monday – are sealed, PEOPLE has learned. The reality TV couple is not getting special consideration since it varies from county to county in Pennsylvania whether divorce records are public, and Montgomery County is one that keeps them sealed to everyone except the parties themselves and their attorneys, a clerk tells PEOPLE. The only thing available for public consumption is the name of each party, the type of complaint they filed (divorce, in this case) and the date they filed. For fans who followed the couple's travails on screen and off, it was a busy day. PEOPLE.com first reported Monday that the couple's marriage had officially entered the endgame, after papers were filed that afternoon to initiate a divorce. Then, on that evening's broadcast, the couple announced they would separate. "Yes, Kate and I have decided to separate," Jon said at the end of an episode that initially focused on building toy houses for the their kids. "I'm not very fond of the idea, personally, but I know it's necessary," Kate added. "My goal is peace for the kids." The couple said they would keep the Pennsylvania house they share with their kids – twins Cara and Mady and sextuplets Colin, Hannah, Leah, Joel, Aaden and Alexis – and take turns living there, and take any other measures necessary to minimize the disruption in their children's lives.

More sad news is that Jon&Kate+8 is taking a production break. There will be a new episode next Monday and then there will not be another new epsiode until August 3rd. Here is an article from the Los Angeles Times:

TLC's hit reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8" is taking a production break after the couple said on Monday night's show that they were seperating.

The show, which follows the lives of Jon and Kate Gosselin and their brood, has become a pop culture sensation, getting TLC its best ratings ever and providing the tabloids with a steady diet of gossip. The couple have been on more than 40 magazine covers over the last two months including seven in a row on US Magazine.
TLC said next Monday would be a clip package with some new footage, but that the next all-new episode would be on Aug. 3. People close to the show say the desire to take a production break came from the network.
So far, six new episodes of the show's 40-episode order have aired. The premiere episode drew almost 10 million viewers and the show is still doing better than it had in its previous four seasons. It has also boosted the ratings of TLC's new show "Cake Boss."
Because of all the turmoil in the Gosselin's marriage, TLC does not have enough footage to put together new episodes right now as its production schedule had become very last minute. Episodes this season were often completed as late as the day of airing.

Houses and Big Changes

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. I missed blogging about last week's episode, but it was pretty much the same as the American Chopper Episode. Tonight's episode was very sad, I found it so hard to watch. The kids are so cute and I feel so bad for them. I feel bad for Jon and Kate too. Their lives must be truly difficult right now. It's nice to hear their side of the story, not the tabloid's. I decided to blog tonight becauase I just wanted to add some cute things the kids said tonight. Here are a few of the cute quotes:

Mady: DUN DUN DUN DUN!

Cara: Thank you for adding that.

Mady: Someone spelled my name right! Other than me!

Cara: Okay! My shift's over. See ya!

Joel: My girlfriend's coming over soon!

Collin: Daddy be quiet, cuz we're doin the interviews!

Alexis: We're havin a wedding cuz this is my, um boy.

Joel Kevin Gosselin's Special Day "I have a weiner, Daddys have weiners!"~Joel

I have decided to try something new on my blog! I am going to a dedicate a day on my blog to each Gosselin kid kid of like their special days on the show. I decided to start with the youngest Gosselin: Joel Kevin. According to Kate on the Season 1 intro, Joel is sneaky and cuddly. I think he's super cute, however, when I think of Joel a certain thing he said comes to mind. On the "Colour Me Gosselin" episode, Joel proudly turned to the camera and said: "I have a weiner, Daddys have weiners!" That quote has become so famous, that there is even a group on Facebook that has it as it's title.

Kids' Crooked Houses

Hello Gosselin Fans! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I don't have much to tell you today except that I found the website that sell the really cute playhouses that the Gosselin kids have. I noticed them for the first time in the American Chopper episode when they were playing outside. Here is the link: http://www.kidscrookedhouse.com/! Enjoy! Also, I hope you like the picture of Kate and the kids in North Carolina.

Jon&Kate+American Chopper= AWESOME EPISODE

Heloha fello Gosselin Fans! I hope you got to see last night's episode of American Chopper. It was pretty good. My only complaint was that it was way too long. I am interested to see Monday night's episode of Jon&Kate+8 because I'm wondering if it's going to be the same as the American Chopper episode just shorter or totally different footage. I hope it shows more of the kids too because the episode last night was mostly about Jon and the guys which got a little boring at times. I absolutely love Kate's vespa. It's one of my favourite colours and I think the paintings on the front are really neat. I like Jon's bike too, especially how it has all the kids names and it says "Lucky 8." My favourite quote from this episode was Jon saying ""Hanging out with the guys was fun ....cuz , I have female friends... as we all know..."

I have really been enjoying Kate's blog on TLC. I hope she continues it. I will add her lastest blog as soon as TLC posts it. I solved the mystery of their vacation from the last blog today! According to pictures and an article in People Magazine, Kate, all 8 kids, and their babysitter went to North Carolina. I hope they enjoyed their getaway. I truly believe that Kate and the kids deserved to get away from all the craziness that surrounds them right now. Although they were the ones that signed up for the show, I do feel bad for them. No one deserves to have paparazzi stalk them 24/7 and not allow them to take part in every day life without being followed and critisized. Here is the article from people.com:
Kate Gosselin took a beach vacation this week – if that's what you call taking eight kids to North Carolina without help from her husband while cameras rolled for their reality show.
Gosselin spent time with her 8-year-old twins and her sextuplets, who turned 5 on May 5, on Bald Head Island, N.C., a resort town that features upscale cottages, a golf course and lighthouse with the only modes of transportation being golf carts and bicycles. The brood, along with a nanny, stayed in a rental cottage while they shot scenes for their reality show.
Arriving on a ferry earlier in the week, the Gosselins were hard to miss with all eight kids, local resident Brittani Reynolds, 20, tells PEOPLE.
Kate, in big sunglasses, looked "like a movie star," according to Reynolds. "She had a manicure and looked really like she takes care of herself. She didn't seem unhappy. She actually seemed to be in a good mood; she was making jokes with everyone," she tells PEOPLE. "She was talking loud to the kids, things like, 'Don't stand over there. Don't touch that.' She sounded like a mom."
On Wednesday, Gosselin and the kids spent a few hours on the beach flanked by a camera crew and several security guards. "The kids seemed really lighthearted," says Mari Leathers, 40, who is vacationing on the island from Wytheville, Va. "Of course they stand out because there are so many of them, but they are really happy looking. One of the girls had a little meltdown because she had misplaced a shovel, but otherwise it looked just fine."
Leathers says she didn't see the children swim, but they did play in the sand, making sand castles and digging holes.
"It was a production, that's for sure," she says. "It wasn't a relaxing beach time because they were definitely filming. But the kids seemed happy enough."
On Thursday, twins Cara and Madelyn – along with a bodyguard and a nanny – stopped at Riverside Adventure Co., a gift shop on the island, where the local newspaper, The Star-News, reports that the girls bought two shark's teeth and silly putty.
"They looked content enough, and the kids in particular looked really happy," a local resident who saw them out Thursday says. "They were just being kids. [Kate] seemed frazzled, but that was probably more because she was dealing with eight kids.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 Bike

On tonight's episode of American Chopper the Teutuls (Paul Sr., Paul Jr., and Michael) take a trip to Jon and Kate's house to see how the family of 10 live. They stop by to hang out and plan the design for Jon's custom chopper. They take Jon and Kate for a ride before Jon leaves to have some male bonding time with the guys. After arriving at the shop, Jon begins to build his bike with the help of the Tetuls. I hope you enjoy this episode. I'll be posting about it tomorrow too!

BAM! Life's a Beach, Huh?

Hey Everyone! I hope you enjoyed last night's episode as much as I did. I thought the kids were absolutely adorable! They said many really cute things. I'm really looking forward to seeing next week's episode with the guys from American Chopper. I have seen pictures of Jon and Kate's new wheels and they're pretty fancy! According to the TLC website Kate and the kids recently took a trip to the beach. I'm not sure where they went, but it looks really nice in the picture. I hope their trip is going to be a new episode. I got the following story about their trip from Kate's blog on the TLC website. The disclaimer at the end (written by Kate) actually made me laugh! Enjoy!

Every time I have the privilege of visiting the beach -- any beach -- with my children, I am reminded of how amazing and entertaining the shore can be! On the first day, the sand was very amusing, and it took a bit to remind them that sand is absolutely washable...once we are done and return to the house. Collin had a particularly difficult time adjusting to the sand and its ability to enter each and every crease, fold and surface. He adapted by managing to fill buckets of water and dump them repeatedly over his head.... only to end up with a fresh collection of sand that formed a perfect mound on top of his head!!

The waters edge called to each of my children and as each wave lapped the surface it mesmerized them and drew them in. This year, having two 8-year-olds and six 5-year-olds, I fought my urge to call them in when the water hit their knees. Each time I got worried, I took a deep breath (something I have been doing A LOT lately!), and tried to remind myself of the purpose of this trip: to have fun with my kids...it's all about the kids!

The second day, we further discovered the world of sea shells. They were amazing at this beach and Mady proudly showcased her sand dollar that she found, even if it was in three pieces. It was coveted by the rest of us for sure! By the end of the second day, each child had their own collection, and even I and my babysitter had started our own collections. It was ex-shell-ent fun!
On the third day, a very large piece of monstrous driftwood had come ashore (we had tracked it's movement all the way across the ocean in front of us the night before and the boys SWORE it was a sea monster!!!) and the boys needed to cover it with wet sand and smooth it with their best cement worker skills! Thank goodness for the sea monster. He provided us with a days worth of fun!

By the fourth day, I had found some sand castle paraphernalia to renew our sand enjoyment and we created a lovely sand city together. I hadn’t built one in awhile so it took some trial and error in order to find the correct wet/dry sand combination that equaled success.

And then the fifth day -- my personal favorite -- began with a very ,very low tide which not only meant that shells were excessively abundant on the shore but also that sand crabs in mass armies were available for the harvesting! My babysitter (who has several brothers) began the digging, and with the three we found initially, we had to find quantities divisible by six in order to keep the troops happy. So this inadvertently began the 'sand crab lottery' whereby the kids each carried a bucket with some wet sand in it and followed me or my babysitter to become the next lucky recipient of a squirmy ocean outcast! I soon realized that while I was NOT at all interested in picking up the sand crabs, I could dive quickly on the telltale lumps in the sand and scoop up an entire handful of sand surrounding the crab and call the next eager child on the list to claim his/her new pet. Amazingly, I was hitting pay dirt (or pay sand as the case may be) with my beginner's luck, and the kids were following me closely, knowing that a find was never very far away.

All in all, each child ended the day with a bucket of 6-8 sand crabs each. What a crabby day! I am proud to be able to add 'professional sand crab locator' to my list of skills! And so, once again, the ocean proved its power to amuse, amaze and entertain as we were able to fill each of our days with new and exciting beach adventures.
Like nowhere else I know of, the beach is a place to refresh, regroup and renew my bond with my children and I am so thrilled to have had the opportunity to slow it down and see life through their eyes as the waves crashed all around us.
~Kate Gosselin

****Disclaimer: No sand crabs, children, camera crew, or even paparazzi were injured in the making of this blog (or "show" for that matter!) All hermit crabs were safely and peacefully returned to the ocean before lunch on the fifth day...and I wish I could say the same thing about the beyond obnoxious paparazzi, but no such luck! :(
