Kate Gosselin Gets a New Hairstyle

Hello Everyone! According to tlc.com Kate has finally gotten a new hairstyle! Here is the article:

From spiky, angular and stripy, to soft undulating waves on honey, Kate Gosselin revealed a restyled ‘do on ABC’s “The View.” And everyone has an opinion on it – of course!
On a personal level, her old signature style is not something I could, or would, wear with my brown curly locks. But, I liked it on Kate and thought that the funky geometric shape was a fun contrast to her more conservative personality. As for the new style -- I really like it; It’s … pretty.

Tango.com, says this new ‘do might even help get her some action – or least improve her chances over her last hair style, which they described as “not the most feminine of looks.” Through their research they found that men prefer "thick, wavy hair as their number one sexiest style... Surprisingly though, men claim to prefer the natural look when it comes to styling…” Sounds like the new coif is a plus for this soon to be divorced mom.

Melissa Magsaysay from the LA Times Blog "All the Rage" was not a fan of the old style, but I’m not really sure if she’s in favor of the new one: “Anything would have been an improvement from the hair flap/bang thing that hung over her one eye, but whatever the backstage hair team did makes all her layers flow together so they actually look like they belong on one head.” Does she like it? Or just hate it less?

Comments from the LA Times are all over the place. Some examples include:

“Stop trying so hard. The short hair was extreme but we were used to it .. This new do makes you look like you have a weave.” -- Jenni

“Kate has a pretty face and it's nice to see her with a more feminine hair style, I like it.” -- Lara

"It looks cute. But the other way is fine too..pretty sure that anybody with 8 kids is looking for an easy 'do', and that's just what she has. And plenty cute." -- KJ

But the online polls clearly show a strong majority in favor of the waves vs. the spikes. So far 73% of voters of a TV Guide poll say “Love it. She should wear it more often,” compared to 23% who say, “Hate it. Nothing can make that backward mullet look nice.”

The NY Daily News voters also favor her new ‘do 3 to 1 in their online poll as do the Huffington Post’s.

More Sad News

Hello Everyone! More sad news about the Gosselins unfortunately. Apparently Jon has taken Shoka and Nala back to the breeder and of course he blamed Kate for getting rid of them! When will he ever learn to except responsibility! As if those kids needed more heartache in their lives! Well anyways, here are the articles:

Jon Says Goodbye To Shoka & Nala: Radar.com

Okay animal lovers, divorcing a spouse is one thing, but getting rid of your dogs is quite another. Jon Gosselin is sending his two German Shepherd's back to the breeder as part of the fallout of his divorce from Kate. While the eight Gosselin children are staying in the family's Wernersville, PA home, their parents are splitting time there, trying to avoid disrupting the kids lives but also wanting to be around each other. Now, Shoka and Nala, the family dogs are being discarded and Jon has been telling pals it's Kate's fault because she won't take care of them when he's not at the house. "Jon blames Kate for having to give up the dogs," a source close to the situation told RadarOnline.com exclusively. "Of course these days, Jon blames Kate for just about everything." Jon has given several interview recently and been brutal on Kate, saying he "despises" her and love girlfriend Hailey Glassman more than he ever loved his wife. He's also in the middle of another scandal, with his kids' babysitter, Stephanie Santoro now coming forward and confirming she had a sexual relationship with Jon. But Jon's attempts to blame Kate for getting rid of the dog simply isn't fair. The dogs have always been Jon's and while Kate was willing to do whatever she had to she simply can't handle them and Jon didn't make any other arrangements for them to be taken care of. He now lives in an apartment in New York City and never considered getting a place where he could keep his dogs, the source told Radar.com. "Kate's being gracious about the situation, she's not going to blame Jon," said the source.

Kate Gosselin on the View, Movie & A Catch

Hello Everyone! I hope you got to see Kate on the View this week. I unfortunately did not get to see it, but I'm sure I will soon. I have included an article about her appearance in this post for you to read, but first I wanted to talk about the new episode last night, "Movie & A Catch"! I thought the episode was cute but certainly not long enough! The movie on the lawn was around 5 minutes which I thought was way to short. I wanted to see more of them with Kate! I also want to know what movie they were watching. If any of you know please let me know! I would have to say that I thought this episode was much sadder than I expected. I didn't think that Jon and Kate would really talk about their separation, but they did. I thought it was so sad when Kate talked about how she wonders if her kids know how much she loves them. I feel so bad for her. I am totally on her side of this. I want one of those TEAM KATE shirts sooooo bad lol! I didn't feel sad at all when Jon went on about missing his kids because he never seems to be too interested in them when he is shown on the show. He always seems super bored. The kids did seem to really enjoy fishing with him the second time though. I personally love fishing and its so exciting when you catch fish!! I apologize for the article I have added to this post about the new episode....... They seem to have confused the fact that Cara went fishing with Jon and Mady went to her Grandma's house. They also seem to have spelled Cara's name wrong! Oops!!

Hot topic: Kate Gosselin on The View UsWeekly.com

On Monday, she began her first of two guest hosting gigs on the ABC show - and she didn't hold back. Sherri Shepherd asked Gosselin what it was like to see her estranged husband Jon bringing his new girlfriend, 22-year-old Hailey Glassman, around their eight kids."This is all difficult - I'm not going to lie," she replied. But she wouldn't answer the question. "For the sake of my children," she told the ladies, she is going to "take the high road."She defended Serena Williams, who was fined $10,000 for her profane outburst at a line judge at the US Open on Saturday. "I think the important thing here is that she's in the public eye," Gosselin, 34, said. "We're all human." Gosselin even admitted, "In the privacy of my own home, this weekend, I melted down."So why does she keep on filming her TLC show? "So many people say, 'Stop ... just pull out,'" Gosselin said. "I can stop, but I'd still have all the flack..." "I’m a single mom, and now more than ever I need to be out there working hard to support my children," she added. "It comes with a price; every job that people do comes with a price." She later said, "My focus is supporting my family and children and whatever way that comes, in a healthy way, I’m gonna do it. "I'm essentially doing it by myself, and I’m going be responsible," she said. When Whoopi Goldberg asked if she's paid enough, Kate replied, "Um... is anybody paid enough?"

Kate Gosselin's First Day On The View: "I will continue to take the high road". Radar.com

The stress of a crumbling marriage and the fact that her estranged husband Jon has a new love appears to be finally getting to Kate Gosselin. Kate – guest hosting on The View Monday - said she had a meltdown this weekend in the privacy of her own home. Her revelation came as the ladies of The View were discussing Serena William’s on-court meltdown at the US Open on Saturday.“She's in the public eye and she melted down," Gosselin finally chirped, fighting to get a word in edgewise. "She's in the public eye and melted down. don't we all? People in the public eye are held to a higher standard. and meltdowns happen.""We're all human," she said, interrupted three times. Joy Behar asked: How do you handle him bringing Hailey Glassman to the house?"It's hard. This is definitely different. But I react to it the only way I can, and I will continue to react that way. For the sake of my children I will continue to take the high road, because it is the only road for me. But to be honest, I had a meltdown over the weekend in the privacy of my own home." On quitting the show, Kate said: "The show has really changed. People say just stop and pull out. But I can't. This is a job. I'm a single mom and I need to be out there working on my job. We didn't go into this wanting to be huge celebrities. But it happened. But essentially I'm doing this by myself. I'm responsible now.

"New Episode: "Movie & A Catch" By Jackie McClellan: Celebritycafe.com

As Jon and Kate continue to spend time separately with their kids, they both take time to reflect on their current family situation. On this week’s episode of “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” both Jon and Kate reflected on the upcoming divorce, while each spending time with their kids. The episode began with Kate and the kids preparing for an evening of fun at home. As Kate prepared dinner, Ashley (the nanny) watched the kids swim in the pool. While preparing dinner, Kate had some time to reflect on the upcoming divorce. She said she feels very overwhelmed, and she hopes that this feeling slows down. She also admitted to feeling lonely after the kids went to bed. After Kate and the kids finished dinner, they watched a movie outside on the lawn. As Kate said, “the kids were so excited about it.” And even though the boys fell asleep, they all seemed to have a fun time. Kate’s part of the episode ended with her packing up to leave, and reflecting on having to leave her kids. "I don't know if I'll ever get used to the fact of packing up…I don’t like leaving…I don’t like having to wonder what they’re doing. I don’t like wondering if they’re having fun…You doubt yourself every day,” she concluded with tears in her eyes. The episode continues with Jon spending time with his kids. This time Jon takes the little kids and Mady fishing in the creek in their neighbor’s backyard. However, the event didn’t turn out as Jon had hoped. None of the kids had fun because it was too hot outside, and no one except Jon, caught any fish. All the meanwhile, Kara opted to go over to Jon’s mom’s house instead. They spent quality time together, and also went shopping. After fishing, they all made homemade pizzas on the grill back at home. Everyone enjoyed this activity much better. Even though the first day of fishing was unsuccessful, Jon didn’t give up. He said he “wanted them to enjoy the benefits of fishing.” Because of this, he brought the kids to a nearby pond the next day, for what hopefully would be, a more successful trip. And that is exactly what happened. As soon as they began fishing, they had a much better time. All the kids were having a lot more fun because they were all catching multiple fish. Jon concluded the episode by saying, “I’m trying to spend as much time with my kids as possible because my time is limited…. [this] time is stressful…no one said this was going be easy—it’s hard.” As both Jon and Kate reflect on the current situation, they seem to have more in common than they may have thought.

Jon Gosselin on Good Morning America

Hello fellow Gosselin fans! I am sad to say that I have no good news to report about our favourite family :( I just watched the video of Jon on Good Morning America. Let's just say that words cannot describe my disapointment and anger after watching it. Just yesturday I was watching one of the very first episodes (also one of my favourites) called "Shopping for Ten." It is shocking to watch them just 3 years ago when they were such a happy, loving family. Then when I watched this latest interview, I was shocked to see a whole other side of Jon you would never even suspect existed. He was so rude and spent all his time bashing Kate. Imagine what Cara and Mady or even the sextuplets would think if they watched that interview. I feel so bad for Kate. She is trying her best and is such a great Mom! I have decided to leave you today with something to think about. When it's not Kate's turn with the kids she goes into hiding and no pictures are ever taken of her, so if Jon really doesn't want cameras around and the paparazzi following him, why wouldn't he do the same?

Dude Ranch and Dress Up

Hello Gosselin Fans!! Well.......... I haven't blogged in way too long lol!! I've been busy and I just keep forgetting! I am definately going to start blogging a few times a week again though. I have also decided to start providing links to websites where you can buy clothing, toys, etc. that are seen on epsiodes of Jon&Kate+8. Anyway, enough about me and more about your favourite reality family~ The Gosselins!!

To be honest with you, after Jon&Kate's divorce I thought that the episodes wouldn't be very good. I thought they would be really sad. But so far, I have been wrong!! The episodes have been great! Especially this week's episode, "Dude Ranch and Dress Up"! From seeing the boys in their adorable cowboy outfits to seeing Jon in a dress, the episode was adorable and full of laughs. The girl's scavenger hunt looked like lots of fun and so did the tin-can telephones. Next week's episode sounds really good too. If yo havent't heard about it yet, it's called "Movie & A Catch". In this episode Kate has movie night in the backyard and Jon teaches his kids how to fish. I am really looking forward to it and I'm sure you are too!
Last Thursday Cara and Mady started 3rd Grade and Friday was the sextuplets first day of school! The sextuplets will be in junior kindergarten only three days a week this school year; next year, they'll go five days a week. Jon tells PEOPLE that the 5-year-olds aren’t ready for kindergarten yet because they were “preemies”. For class assignments, Jon says, “They’ll split them by personality. Alexis and Collin will definitely not be classmates.” The twins are excited to go back to school, “because we live in the middle of nowhere and all their friends live near school,” Jon says their brothers and sisters aren’t anxious about their first day of class. “They use each other as a security blanket,” he says. “As long as they’re all going, they’re not nervous. If I would send one, they’d probably freak out.”

"It Feels Like I Failed" ~Kate Gosselin

Jon and Kate are once again on another magazine cover. They are both on the cover of the July 6th edition of People Magazine. The magazine is on newsstands starting tomorrow (Friday). I think I'm going to get a copy. It looks very interesting. Here is a short clip from the article:

There's a lot of shouting happening in Kate Gosselin's house. The mother of eight children – twins Mady and Cara, 8, and sextuplets Alexis, Collin, Leah, Hannah, Aaden and Joel, 5 – has barely had time to change out of her morning workout clothes before her brood descends upon her, clinging to her legs and loudly wondering what to do given the rainy weather. "Let's do a project," yells Kate, 34, above the clamor. The eight children race to the kitchen table and promptly pull out their construction paper and crayons to make Father’s Day cards for their conspicuously absent dad, who'll receive them two days later. "Will you help me draw a heart?" asks a giggling Collin. "I want lots of hearts." Lately, the family has seen lots of heartbreak, culminating with the news that Kate and Jon, 32, stars of the reality series Jon & Kate Plus 8, have decided to end their marrige. "On a good day, I feel relief," Kate says, curled up in a chair in her living room. "On a bad day, I feel failure."

Another Month Without Jon&Kate+8

Hello Fans! Unfortunately I have nothing but sad new to tell you tonight. I hope you all watched the new episode last night or are watching tonight. The news was honestly heartbreaking. I can't believe that their marrige is over. It seemed to happen so fast. It feels for so many like this separation is coming from a member of their own family. As you can see, a lot has been happening in the last 24 hours, and I for one can say it's devastating. I continue to be a fan of the show and hope to keep a place here for fans to talk & discuss what is going on. Here is an article from people.com regarding the seperation:

The wait is over – and so is the marriage. With an hour-long special broadcast Monday night, Jon and Kate Gosselin, parents of eight young children and stars of the TLC reality show Jon & Kate Plus Eight, publicly announced that they will separate on the same day they filed for divorce in a Pennsylvania court. "Over the course of this weekend, Jon's activities have left me no choice but to file legal procedures in order to protect myself and our children," Kate said in a statement Monday night. "While there are reasons why it was appropriate and necessary for me to initiate this proceeding, I do not wish to discuss those reasons at this time, in the hope that all issues will be resolved amicably between Jon and myself. As always, my first priority remains our children." Jon released a statement of his own, claiming his wife was the first to make a legal move. "This afternoon, Kate filed for divorce. Our kids are still my number one priority. I love them and want to make sure they stay happy, healthy and safe. My job is being the best, most supportive and loving father that I can be to my kids, and not being married to Kate doesn’t change that."
"This will be a difficult transition for all of us," Jon's statement continued, "but Kate and I will work out a schedule that enables our kids to have plenty of quality time with both of us at home in Pennsylvania. In terms of my marriage, it’s no secret that the past six months or so have been very difficult for Kate and me. We are no different than other couples and parents who are facing a crossroads in their marriage. I am of course deeply saddened that we are divorcing." And, this may finally be one part of their life that remains private: The divorce papers – filed individually in Montgomery County, Pa., Monday – are sealed, PEOPLE has learned. The reality TV couple is not getting special consideration since it varies from county to county in Pennsylvania whether divorce records are public, and Montgomery County is one that keeps them sealed to everyone except the parties themselves and their attorneys, a clerk tells PEOPLE. The only thing available for public consumption is the name of each party, the type of complaint they filed (divorce, in this case) and the date they filed. For fans who followed the couple's travails on screen and off, it was a busy day. PEOPLE.com first reported Monday that the couple's marriage had officially entered the endgame, after papers were filed that afternoon to initiate a divorce. Then, on that evening's broadcast, the couple announced they would separate. "Yes, Kate and I have decided to separate," Jon said at the end of an episode that initially focused on building toy houses for the their kids. "I'm not very fond of the idea, personally, but I know it's necessary," Kate added. "My goal is peace for the kids." The couple said they would keep the Pennsylvania house they share with their kids – twins Cara and Mady and sextuplets Colin, Hannah, Leah, Joel, Aaden and Alexis – and take turns living there, and take any other measures necessary to minimize the disruption in their children's lives.

More sad news is that Jon&Kate+8 is taking a production break. There will be a new episode next Monday and then there will not be another new epsiode until August 3rd. Here is an article from the Los Angeles Times:

TLC's hit reality show "Jon & Kate Plus 8" is taking a production break after the couple said on Monday night's show that they were seperating.

The show, which follows the lives of Jon and Kate Gosselin and their brood, has become a pop culture sensation, getting TLC its best ratings ever and providing the tabloids with a steady diet of gossip. The couple have been on more than 40 magazine covers over the last two months including seven in a row on US Magazine.
TLC said next Monday would be a clip package with some new footage, but that the next all-new episode would be on Aug. 3. People close to the show say the desire to take a production break came from the network.
So far, six new episodes of the show's 40-episode order have aired. The premiere episode drew almost 10 million viewers and the show is still doing better than it had in its previous four seasons. It has also boosted the ratings of TLC's new show "Cake Boss."
Because of all the turmoil in the Gosselin's marriage, TLC does not have enough footage to put together new episodes right now as its production schedule had become very last minute. Episodes this season were often completed as late as the day of airing.

Houses and Big Changes

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted anything in a while. I missed blogging about last week's episode, but it was pretty much the same as the American Chopper Episode. Tonight's episode was very sad, I found it so hard to watch. The kids are so cute and I feel so bad for them. I feel bad for Jon and Kate too. Their lives must be truly difficult right now. It's nice to hear their side of the story, not the tabloid's. I decided to blog tonight becauase I just wanted to add some cute things the kids said tonight. Here are a few of the cute quotes:

Mady: DUN DUN DUN DUN!

Cara: Thank you for adding that.

Mady: Someone spelled my name right! Other than me!

Cara: Okay! My shift's over. See ya!

Joel: My girlfriend's coming over soon!

Collin: Daddy be quiet, cuz we're doin the interviews!

Alexis: We're havin a wedding cuz this is my, um boy.

Joel Kevin Gosselin's Special Day "I have a weiner, Daddys have weiners!"~Joel

I have decided to try something new on my blog! I am going to a dedicate a day on my blog to each Gosselin kid kid of like their special days on the show. I decided to start with the youngest Gosselin: Joel Kevin. According to Kate on the Season 1 intro, Joel is sneaky and cuddly. I think he's super cute, however, when I think of Joel a certain thing he said comes to mind. On the "Colour Me Gosselin" episode, Joel proudly turned to the camera and said: "I have a weiner, Daddys have weiners!" That quote has become so famous, that there is even a group on Facebook that has it as it's title.

Kids' Crooked Houses

Hello Gosselin Fans! I hope everyone had a great weekend! I don't have much to tell you today except that I found the website that sell the really cute playhouses that the Gosselin kids have. I noticed them for the first time in the American Chopper episode when they were playing outside. Here is the link: http://www.kidscrookedhouse.com/! Enjoy! Also, I hope you like the picture of Kate and the kids in North Carolina.

Jon&Kate+American Chopper= AWESOME EPISODE

Heloha fello Gosselin Fans! I hope you got to see last night's episode of American Chopper. It was pretty good. My only complaint was that it was way too long. I am interested to see Monday night's episode of Jon&Kate+8 because I'm wondering if it's going to be the same as the American Chopper episode just shorter or totally different footage. I hope it shows more of the kids too because the episode last night was mostly about Jon and the guys which got a little boring at times. I absolutely love Kate's vespa. It's one of my favourite colours and I think the paintings on the front are really neat. I like Jon's bike too, especially how it has all the kids names and it says "Lucky 8." My favourite quote from this episode was Jon saying ""Hanging out with the guys was fun ....cuz , I have female friends... as we all know..."

I have really been enjoying Kate's blog on TLC. I hope she continues it. I will add her lastest blog as soon as TLC posts it. I solved the mystery of their vacation from the last blog today! According to pictures and an article in People Magazine, Kate, all 8 kids, and their babysitter went to North Carolina. I hope they enjoyed their getaway. I truly believe that Kate and the kids deserved to get away from all the craziness that surrounds them right now. Although they were the ones that signed up for the show, I do feel bad for them. No one deserves to have paparazzi stalk them 24/7 and not allow them to take part in every day life without being followed and critisized. Here is the article from people.com:
Kate Gosselin took a beach vacation this week – if that's what you call taking eight kids to North Carolina without help from her husband while cameras rolled for their reality show.
Gosselin spent time with her 8-year-old twins and her sextuplets, who turned 5 on May 5, on Bald Head Island, N.C., a resort town that features upscale cottages, a golf course and lighthouse with the only modes of transportation being golf carts and bicycles. The brood, along with a nanny, stayed in a rental cottage while they shot scenes for their reality show.
Arriving on a ferry earlier in the week, the Gosselins were hard to miss with all eight kids, local resident Brittani Reynolds, 20, tells PEOPLE.
Kate, in big sunglasses, looked "like a movie star," according to Reynolds. "She had a manicure and looked really like she takes care of herself. She didn't seem unhappy. She actually seemed to be in a good mood; she was making jokes with everyone," she tells PEOPLE. "She was talking loud to the kids, things like, 'Don't stand over there. Don't touch that.' She sounded like a mom."
On Wednesday, Gosselin and the kids spent a few hours on the beach flanked by a camera crew and several security guards. "The kids seemed really lighthearted," says Mari Leathers, 40, who is vacationing on the island from Wytheville, Va. "Of course they stand out because there are so many of them, but they are really happy looking. One of the girls had a little meltdown because she had misplaced a shovel, but otherwise it looked just fine."
Leathers says she didn't see the children swim, but they did play in the sand, making sand castles and digging holes.
"It was a production, that's for sure," she says. "It wasn't a relaxing beach time because they were definitely filming. But the kids seemed happy enough."
On Thursday, twins Cara and Madelyn – along with a bodyguard and a nanny – stopped at Riverside Adventure Co., a gift shop on the island, where the local newspaper, The Star-News, reports that the girls bought two shark's teeth and silly putty.
"They looked content enough, and the kids in particular looked really happy," a local resident who saw them out Thursday says. "They were just being kids. [Kate] seemed frazzled, but that was probably more because she was dealing with eight kids.

Jon & Kate Plus 8 Bike

On tonight's episode of American Chopper the Teutuls (Paul Sr., Paul Jr., and Michael) take a trip to Jon and Kate's house to see how the family of 10 live. They stop by to hang out and plan the design for Jon's custom chopper. They take Jon and Kate for a ride before Jon leaves to have some male bonding time with the guys. After arriving at the shop, Jon begins to build his bike with the help of the Tetuls. I hope you enjoy this episode. I'll be posting about it tomorrow too!

BAM! Life's a Beach, Huh?

Hey Everyone! I hope you enjoyed last night's episode as much as I did. I thought the kids were absolutely adorable! They said many really cute things. I'm really looking forward to seeing next week's episode with the guys from American Chopper. I have seen pictures of Jon and Kate's new wheels and they're pretty fancy! According to the TLC website Kate and the kids recently took a trip to the beach. I'm not sure where they went, but it looks really nice in the picture. I hope their trip is going to be a new episode. I got the following story about their trip from Kate's blog on the TLC website. The disclaimer at the end (written by Kate) actually made me laugh! Enjoy!

Every time I have the privilege of visiting the beach -- any beach -- with my children, I am reminded of how amazing and entertaining the shore can be! On the first day, the sand was very amusing, and it took a bit to remind them that sand is absolutely washable...once we are done and return to the house. Collin had a particularly difficult time adjusting to the sand and its ability to enter each and every crease, fold and surface. He adapted by managing to fill buckets of water and dump them repeatedly over his head.... only to end up with a fresh collection of sand that formed a perfect mound on top of his head!!

The waters edge called to each of my children and as each wave lapped the surface it mesmerized them and drew them in. This year, having two 8-year-olds and six 5-year-olds, I fought my urge to call them in when the water hit their knees. Each time I got worried, I took a deep breath (something I have been doing A LOT lately!), and tried to remind myself of the purpose of this trip: to have fun with my kids...it's all about the kids!

The second day, we further discovered the world of sea shells. They were amazing at this beach and Mady proudly showcased her sand dollar that she found, even if it was in three pieces. It was coveted by the rest of us for sure! By the end of the second day, each child had their own collection, and even I and my babysitter had started our own collections. It was ex-shell-ent fun!
On the third day, a very large piece of monstrous driftwood had come ashore (we had tracked it's movement all the way across the ocean in front of us the night before and the boys SWORE it was a sea monster!!!) and the boys needed to cover it with wet sand and smooth it with their best cement worker skills! Thank goodness for the sea monster. He provided us with a days worth of fun!

By the fourth day, I had found some sand castle paraphernalia to renew our sand enjoyment and we created a lovely sand city together. I hadn’t built one in awhile so it took some trial and error in order to find the correct wet/dry sand combination that equaled success.

And then the fifth day -- my personal favorite -- began with a very ,very low tide which not only meant that shells were excessively abundant on the shore but also that sand crabs in mass armies were available for the harvesting! My babysitter (who has several brothers) began the digging, and with the three we found initially, we had to find quantities divisible by six in order to keep the troops happy. So this inadvertently began the 'sand crab lottery' whereby the kids each carried a bucket with some wet sand in it and followed me or my babysitter to become the next lucky recipient of a squirmy ocean outcast! I soon realized that while I was NOT at all interested in picking up the sand crabs, I could dive quickly on the telltale lumps in the sand and scoop up an entire handful of sand surrounding the crab and call the next eager child on the list to claim his/her new pet. Amazingly, I was hitting pay dirt (or pay sand as the case may be) with my beginner's luck, and the kids were following me closely, knowing that a find was never very far away.

All in all, each child ended the day with a bucket of 6-8 sand crabs each. What a crabby day! I am proud to be able to add 'professional sand crab locator' to my list of skills! And so, once again, the ocean proved its power to amuse, amaze and entertain as we were able to fill each of our days with new and exciting beach adventures.
Like nowhere else I know of, the beach is a place to refresh, regroup and renew my bond with my children and I am so thrilled to have had the opportunity to slow it down and see life through their eyes as the waves crashed all around us.
~Kate Gosselin

****Disclaimer: No sand crabs, children, camera crew, or even paparazzi were injured in the making of this blog (or "show" for that matter!) All hermit crabs were safely and peacefully returned to the ocean before lunch on the fifth day...and I wish I could say the same thing about the beyond obnoxious paparazzi, but no such luck! :(

BAM! 100th Episode!

Hello Gosselin Fans! It's hard to believe but its's finally here. The 100th episode of Jon&Kate+8! Wow 100 episodes already! On tonight's episode Jon & Kate Plus 8 celebrate their 100th episode with special guest Chef Emeril Lagasse who, gives the entire Gosselin family cooking lessons. The kids lend a hand and help create a delicious meal that everyone can enjoy. I am really looking forward to seeing this episode and I'm sure all of you are too.
